The holidays definitely came way too soon for me. I spent some time with the family in Richmond, and had the lucky treat of seeing my brother and sister in law from Singapore and meeting my neice Eila for the very first time. Ariya truly enjoyed playing with her cousin, and seeing them together was just too cute! We also were lucky to see my aunt and uncle and their 2 sons from Pennsylvania. It was great that they could meet Eila and Ariya as well. So, with that being said, I have over 500 pictures to go through, and it was a bit overwhelming. And honestly, I’m not even going to attempt to edit these pictures. A lot of these pictures are either too blue or too orange, because I played around with the white balance. Don’t hold it against me, I am still learning.
Ok, so the idea that not posting pictures of the baby or pets was short lived. Too much going on at the house. But when the baby is sleeping, and the dogs get a break outside, I bring the camera. Here’s a cute one of Emmy and Charlie in the snow. The focus is more on Emmy b/c I love the snow on her face, and her paw trying to wipe it off. She’s such a cutie, my sweet Emmy.
For Day 42, I joined my friend and dog trainer, Connie Moss at Strategic Paws (http://www.strategicpawstraining.com/) for tea at the Coach and Horses Tea Room in Winchester (http://of-tea-i-sing.com/). And I had to take a picture of this beautiful display of yummy treats. I wish I had cleared up the focus a little better, but I’d say it turned out ok. It was a beautiful place to have tea, and I would definitely go back again.
So, even though my baby girl is now 8 months old, I’ve decided to start posting pictures of something other than my pets and my girl. Don’t worry, I still captured Ariya’s special day and will continue to capture her beautiful face. And I’m sure when I run out of ideas, then pictures of my baby and pets will be posted.
So here goes, ’tis the season!
It snowed again today, so I couldn’t help myself in taking pictures of the dogs playing again in the snow. Here’s Emmy playing keep away with a branch.
On another note, I can’t believe i’m on Day 40 of this challenge! I need to step it up though, thinking outside of the box. Maybe I’ll play with some Christmas decorations in front of the tree. Goal for tomorrow, no pictures of baby or pets.
I can’t help myself when it comes to the puppies or the baby. I know I said I’d try to think outside of the box, and I will eventually, it is going to be a long year if I don’t. But with the snow still on the ground, I had to capture the dogs playing in the snow. It’s tough taking pics in the snow, b/c of the white in the snow. A lot of the pictures looked crazy overexposed, all because of the white balance. So most of the time, I was trying to alter the white balance.
Here’s Charlie, the flying puppy!
I’m playing around with an 85mm lens that I got from lensrental.com. I think I prefer my nifty fifty to this lens, but hey, it’s worth playing around with while I have it. My husband helped give our daughter a bath while I sat around taking pictures. They weren’t all great, but here’s one that was pretty sweet. This teething thing is going on forever, she puts EVERYTHING in her mouth!
